Where are you located? I’d be happy to look at the computer at no cost. If we’re not semi-local, I can help fix almost anything over the phone, instant messenger or email.

I doubt the virus came from DeviantArt, not that it isn’t possible, but it’s highly unlikely because of what it takes to deliver a virus and the systems DA has in place prevent most such exploits.

Anyway, give a holler if you want a hand getting the computer back up where it needs to be :)

Sad to hear about Miu’s health woes but glad to see the cutesy guest comic by ponygirl ^_^.
As others have suggested, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware progame is very good at getting rid of nasties. I also highly recommend rummaging around on the Bleeping Computer forums for help removing it. They usually have very good guides and helpful community members to walk you through the removal process.
